Tempting Fate

If you are an adult woman, i guarantee you will see yourself in the novels of Jane Green.

Her latest, Tempting Fate, describes only too well what it is like to have reached a certain age and become invisible, at least in all the ways that count. Men have stereotypically bought a sportscar and run away with their secretaries while in the throes of mid-life crisis. This book, of course, comes at it from the female point of view.

Other reviewers are characterizing the book as a cautionary tale. I beg to differ since Green provides a happy ending that I’m not at all sure would actually happen. Still, by the end of the book, I was rooting for that happy ending for Gabby. Or maybe for us all.
